Family Cottage in Marblehead Gets Mitsubishi Ductless AC

New Mitsubishi ductless system installed in a cottage home in the Marblehead Historic District of Old Town. The owners of this single-family cottage in the Marblehead Historic District in Old Town loved their home’s location and quaint appeal. However, recent years had presented a problem since the house lacked a central air conditioning system.

In the winters, the family stayed warm, thanks to the oil heating system, but the summers were getting unbearable. Like most older homes in Marblehead, MA, this cottage did not have existing ductwork for a standard HVAC system.  Instead, the family would need a solution that could fit into the home without significant reconstruction.

Thankfully, the homeowners knew just where to turn! Friends of theirs had recently used N.E.T.R. Inc., for their home ductless air conditioning installation.  The friends were so please with their new ductless heating and cooling system that they recommended that these homeowners give us a call.

The Problem: A quaint cottage in Marblehead Historic District in Old Town needed to find an air conditioning solution to give them relief from the sweltering heat in the summer.

The Solution: A friend referred the family to N.E.T.R. Inc., who knew just what to do!  The team installed two indoor Mitsubishi Electric ductless ACs with a single outdoor condenser unit to provide quality air conditioning for this family.

The Design

Inc., knew that any ductwork was out of the question. Instead, the project manager, who met with the family, recommended that they have two indoor, ductless AC units installed in the bedroom and living room. These two units will provide ample cooling relief for the whole home.

Additionally, an outdoor condenser unit would need to be installed on the side of the home, where it would be easy to access without compromising the home’s curb appeal.

The Installation

A Mitsubishi ductless AC unit installed on the wall of a cottage in Old Town. First, the N.E.T.R. Inc., team had to pour a new concrete pad for the outdoor condenser unit. This pad is a vital step in the Mitsubishi ductless AC system’s installation process since it provides a stable place for the condenser to sit. Another benefit to the concrete pad is that it makes the unit easy to access for maintenance and keeps it free from debris and snow.

The condenser is then connected to two indoor Mitsubishi ductless air handlers, which are mounted on the walls of the designated rooms. In this case, N.E.T.R. Inc., installed one Mitsubishi ductless AC in the bedroom, where it will be able to keep the couple cool during hot summer nights.  The second wall-mounted AC unit was placed in the living room.

Each of the indoor AC units is placed to provide the best airflow throughout the home. Then, thin piping is run through the walls like electrical wiring to the outdoor condenser unit.

Once all of the equipment is installed, the team can start the system and make sure it is working properly.
